What can I expect?

In a non-judgement and supportive zone, we will have an in-depth conversation where I will get to know you. I will ask about your medical history, medicines, supplement use, physical activity, amount of sleep, stressors, and day to day life. We discuss your pathway to health, your goals, what you would like to gain from this step in your journey, and how we can work together to achieve those goals.  Yes, we talk about all of this prior to getting into food because your lifestyle impacts what you eat, your health, and my recommendations! Finally, we will talk about food and drinks. This will include a detailed food recall from the past 24 hours. You can expect to walk out with a better understanding of how food and nutrition relates to you, several tangible goals to focus on, and a plan that works for your life and needs.  I recognize that each individual comes from a different place: where you like to shop for groceries, how often you can do that and what is monetarily feasible, whether you enjoy cooking or prefer dining out, what your work hours or family dynamic, your personal culture and preferences. All of these particulars are taken into consideration so that whatever plan we outline together is accessible.

Why choose me?

I use a blend of traditional and holistic medicine, built upon evidence based practice, to address current illnesses and their underlying causes. We are what we eat, and by having a good variety of foods we can be our best selves. I do not teach for perfection, because humans are not perfect. I am a realist, and I know that sometimes you just want to eat a cookie. I will use an integrative health model to talk about nutrition and exercise, but also sleep and stress management. I will listen to what your goals are, and together we will create a realistic plan to accomplish them. Change happens one small step at a time!
